PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Battle Avatar (ranked 1028 p4p, 1660 weight class) and Eric Draven (ranked 158 p4p, 250 weight class). Avatar comes into the arena with For Heavy Metal we will die! blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Nice straight punches there by Draven. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Draven.
Avatar staying out of range there.
Draven moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Avatar throws a hook but Draven blocks it.

Draven has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Avatar feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Draven tries a head kick but it misses.
Avatar avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Avatar lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Avatar feints and then cracks Draven's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Draven down.

Draven might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Eric Draven seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Draven throws a hook to the side of Avatar's head but Avatar sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Draven seems to have recovered his senses.

Draven lands a two punch combo.
Avatar staying out of range there.
A little feinted left hand from Avatar on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Draven throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Avatar sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Avatar throws a quick counter kick to the body but Draven avoids it.
Avatar connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Draven is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Avatar.
A left lands for Draven.
Draven scores with a nice right hand.
Avatar gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Draven gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Eric Draven!
