Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Snail Tail (ranked 3066 p4p, 3512 weight class) and Damian Tonon (ranked 366 p4p, 405 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

Tonon drives through and clinches with Tail against the cage.

Tonon goes for a takedown attempt but Tail pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Tonon forces Tail back against the cage and clinches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tonon's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Tail tries to counter with a takedown but Tonon is quick to defend against it.

and Tail counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Tonon is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Tail's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Tail's back!
Tonon is trying to control but Tail is trying to escape here - he's now mounted.
Tonon wants to control the pace but Tail is squirming around nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tonon wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tail keeps working.
Tonon has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Tonon is trying to work for a kimura but Tail is defending well.
Tail moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Tonon wants to control from the top but Tail keeps moving.
Tail seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Tonon stands and throws Tail's legs to the side, diving into side control.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Tail sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Tonon uses his free foot to push down on Tail's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Tail.

Tonon throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Tail drops down looking for a counter takedown but Tonon sprawls and moves away.
Tonon shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Tail defends it nicely.

Tonon just misses with a punch to the body.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tonon tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Tail just stands there and leans against the cage.

Tonon has picked Tail up - he's going for a ride! Tonon dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Tonon is trying to control the action in half guard but Tail is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Tonon wants to free his trapped foot but Tail is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Tonon has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Tail has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Tonon is working away from the top position though.

Tail is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Tail is trying to control Tonon's posture. Tonon takes advantage of the lull and advances to side control. He also appears to have an arm triangle here! Uh oh, big trouble for Tail! Tonon is rotating here... this could be the end... Tail is out! Tonon has ended this one emphatically! Great submission!
