PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between King Kong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takhi Mahkah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mahkah is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Nirvana- in bloom. Takhi Mahkah has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, King Kong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Takhi Mahkah!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Ackerman and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kong avoids a punch combination nicely.
Mahkah fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Kong throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Mahkah connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Kong dodges the punch combination from Mahkah.
Kong closes the distance but Mahkah moves to the side
and Mahkah counters with a big head kick but Kong shrugs it off.
Mahkah is looking to score with low kicks.
Kong clinches but Mahkah breaks the clinch
and Mahkah counters with a three punch combo that has Kong backing up. Kong nods at Mahkah to acknowledge the strikes.
Mahkah connects with a single shot there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kong shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mahkah as he jumps to the side.

Kong feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Mahkah wants to stand up but Kong is controlling him.

Mahkah is trying to keep Kong in close.
Mahkah wants to get back to his feet but Kong is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Mahkah is pulling down on Kong's head. It's preventing any offense from Kong, at least for the moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Kong working some strikes from top position.
Mahkah preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Kong stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mahkah swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mahkah trying to control the position.
Kong postures up in Mahkah's guard and throws a big left but Mahkah blocks it.
Mahkah trying to keep a closed guard but Kong is proving a slippery customer.
Kong throwing strikes from guard but Mahkah blocks nicely.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Mahkah lands a right hook to the body.
Mahkah fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Kong on the side of the head.
A jab from Mahkah misses.
Kong looks to clinch
and Mahkah counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mahkah misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Mahkah lands with a nice body punch.
Mahkah moves into range and connects with a jab.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kong avoids a punch combination nicely.
Mahkah misses with a two punch combination.
Mahkah misses with a head kick.
Kong dodges the punch combination from Mahkah.
Mahkah misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Mahkah looks gassed!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Mahkah throws a right and a left that Kong avoids nicely.
Mahkah stuffs the takedown.
Kong shoots for a double leg takedown but Mahkah sprawls well. He's pushed Kong's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Takhi Mahkah dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Mahkah throws a series of punches but Kong moves out of range.
Mahkah lands a nice looking kick to the body. Kong takes a step back to recover.

Kong throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mahkah's waist but Mahkah gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kong off to one side.
Mahkah slips under a jab.
Mahkah cracks Kong with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mahkah lands a head shot.
Takhi Mahkah seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Kong moves into range and clinches up with Mahkah.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Mahkah is trying to drag Kong to the mat but Kong just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there.
Mahkah tries to pull guard but Kong holds him up against the ropes and eventually Mahkah drops back down to his feet.

Mahkah keeping moving, preventing Kong from controlling successfully.
Mahkah has his hands on Kong's head, controlling the position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Kong is looking to work some ground and pound but Mahkah has wrist control.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Kong postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Mahkah cracks Kong with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Mahkah looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
No luck for Kong with that takedown attempt.

Kong drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Mahkah can't do much from the bottom here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mahkah is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Kong thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mahkah's head.
Mahkah is not content to let Kong control the position.
Mahkah pushes Kong off looking to stand but Kong dives back in and keeps control.
Mahkah is looking to improve his position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kong keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Mahkah is trying to control but can't.
Mahkah wants to get back to full guard.
Mahkah blocking the ground and pound attempt from Kong.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Mahkah throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kong.
Kong fails with the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for King Kong. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Mahkah looks to land a right hand but Kong moved out of range.
Mahkah scores with a hook to the body. Kong takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Takhi Mahkah showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


A head kick misses from Mahkah.
Kong takes one to the side of the head.
Kong darts in trying to clinch
and Mahkah counters with a head kick. That will keep Kong thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Kong shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mahkah pinned against the cage. Mahkah gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Mahkah pushes Kong away with a front kick.
Mahkah lands a nice looking body shot.
Mahkah scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Kong doesn't seem bothered though.
Mahkah scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mahkah wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kong on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Mahkah bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.


Kong is rocked!
Mahkah seems to be stalking Kong here. He circles momentarily and then unleashes a devastatic head kick! Kong drops like a stone, out cold! WOW! Are you kidding me!? What a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:17 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Takhi Mahkah!
