Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Papa Moosh Dambullah (ranked 242 p4p, 222 weight class) and Mark Merel (ranked 32 p4p, 31 weight class). Dambullah comes into the arena with Boom Boom blaring out of the sound system. Papa Moosh Dambullah had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Papa Moosh Dambullah!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Merel!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Sam Margolis and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big left from Merel misses.
Merel connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Merel takes a swing at Dambullah's ribcage but misses.
Merel scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Merel jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Dambullah misses with a low kick.
Merel with the counter takedown but Dambullah avoids it easily.
Merel throws out a loose jab but Dambullah uses good head movement to avoid it.

Dambullah shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dambullah swings for the body but Merel moves out of range.
Merel checks a low kick from Dambullah.

and Dambullah counters with a nice body shot.
Dambullah ducks under a wild hook from Merel.
Merel lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Dambullah at a distance.
Merel cracks Dambullah with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Merel lands a lovely overhand right.
Merel throws a hook to the side of Dambullah's head but Dambullah sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Merel throws a shot from downtown. Dambullah moves away and avoids it.
Merel changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Some bone on bone action there as Merel checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Decent striking displayed by Merel there.
Good exchange - Merel coming out on top.
Merel connects with a right hand. Dambullah shakes it off.
Merel scores with a crisp jab that stopped Dambullah in his tracks.

Dambullah tried to counter with a leg kick but Merel avoided it.
Dambullah misses with an uppercut.

Merel tries to bum rush Dambullah with a series of wild strikes but Dambullah uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dambullah takes the fight into the clinch.
Dambullah lands a left hand that snaps the head of Merel backwards.
Dambullah tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Dambullah doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Merel misses with a short punch on the inside.
Dambullah misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Dambullah has a couple of punches blocked by Merel.
Merel tries to circle away but Dambullah has him pinned against the cage.
Nice body punch from Dambullah - that landed with a thud.
Dambullah lands a shoulder strike.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Merel dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Merel shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Dambullah steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Merel.

and Dambullah counters with a head kick that drops Merel to the mat! Merel scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Dambullah takes one to the chin there.
Merel darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Dambullah ducks under a wild hook from Merel.
Dambullah is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Merel misses with a left hand

and Dambullah counters with a nice right hand that sends Merel toppling to the canvas! Merel scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Dambullah finish him?!

Merel is rocked!

It looks like Mark Merel has been cut.
Mark Merel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dambullah connects with a picture perfect right hand that knocks Merel out cold! This one is over in a flash!
