Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gustavo Gonzalez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and jim fraigne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonzalez closes this distance looking for a takedown but fraigne circles away.
fraigne doesn't manage to clinch there - Gonzalez circles away.
Gonzalez throws a solid leg kick but fraigne takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Gonzalez.
fraigne throws a combination. Gonzalez tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Gonzalez fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Gonzalez gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

fraigne wants to pass the guard but Gonzalez is keeping the position.

Gonzalez has his foot on fraigne's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. fraigne works his way back into a safe position though.

fraigne tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Gonzalez lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and fraigne has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from fraigne and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

fraigne changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gonzalez tries to avoid it but fraigne manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gonzalez to the ground. Gonzalez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Horrible takedown by fraigne or perhaps it was just good defense by Gonzalez which made him look bad.
Gonzalez takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Gonzalez slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Gonzalez has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for fraigne. Oh but Gonzalez has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! fraigne goes limp - he's gone! Gonzalez jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
