Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hector Sanchez (ranked 3015 p4p, 2787 weight class) and Marvin Watts (ranked 438 p4p, 405 weight class). Marvin Watts will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

Sanchez misses with a takedown
and Watts counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Watts has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Sanchez is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Watts connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Sanchez momentarily.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Sanchez.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hector Sanchez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sanchez misses with a left hand
and Watts makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Sanchez shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Watts cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Sanchez tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Watts paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Watts gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Watts is looking to stand up but Sanchez isn't so interested in that idea.
Sanchez wants to control from the top but Watts keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sanchez prevents Watts from getting back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sanchez is pushing down on Watts's leg trying to pass to half guard. Watts is fighting to maintain full guard but Sanchez has managed to sneak the leg through.
Sanchez is trying to control the action in half guard but Watts is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Sanchez stops Watts from getting back to his feet.
Sanchez passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Watts!
Watts's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Sanchez quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Sanchez but it's paid off an Watts is forced to tap! Nice work by Sanchez.
