Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Caio Angelis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, David Pachani!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Felipe Paraventi and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pachani shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Angelis as he jumps to the side.
Pachani fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Pachani fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Caio Angelis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Pachani.
Pachani tries to clinch up but Angelis circles away and keeps his distance.

Angelis shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Angelis showed some decent athleticism there.
Angelis missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

Angelis is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Angelis is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Pachani defends it well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Angelis looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Angelis trying to mount his opponent but Pachani defends it.

Angelis seems to be looking for submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Angelis frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Pachani is trying to escape the mount.
Angelis thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Angelis looking to control but Pachani is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Angelis stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Angelis closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Pachani to the mat! Pachani manages to get full guard.
Angelis wants to pass the guard but Pachani is keeping the position.
Pachani wants to sweep here but Angelis controlling him for the moment.
Angelis trying to control the position from guard on top but Pachani is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Angelis thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Pachani really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Angelis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Angelis is breathing heavily.
Pachani is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Angelis stands and throws Pachani's legs to the side, diving into side control.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Angelis is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Pachani is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Angelis staying calm.
Pachani is looking for a sweep.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Angelis trying to control the position but Pachani is working away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Pachani prevents Angelis from improving position.

Angelis working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Angelis advances to full mount.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Pachani wants to try and get back to his feet.

Angelis is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Angelis!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Caio Angelis!
