Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between James Brown (ranked 5490 p4p, 5672 weight class) and Morgan Lima (ranked 517 p4p, 525 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, James Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Morgan Lima!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Josh West and Paul Gruel.

Brown shoots in but no luck this time.
Brown looks for the body kick but Lima saw that one coming.
Brown shoots in and drives through. Lima sprawls well.
Lima shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Brown napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Brown tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Lima has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
A punch combination from Brown misses.
Lima fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Brown avoids it really well and circles away.
Brown misses with a double jab.
Lima shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Brown has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Lima off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Lima counters with a nice double leg into side control. Brown won't be happy with that.

Lima stands up and beckons Brown to his feet.
Lima shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Brown as he avoids it easily.

and Lima decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Brown's guard.

Horrible takedown attempt by Brown or perhaps it was just good defense by Lima, which made it look bad.

Brown fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lima avoids it really well and circles away.
Lima tries to score a power double leg takedown but Brown sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lima somewhat.
Lima tries to bum rush Brown with a series of wild strikes but Brown uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Brown throws a series of punches but Lima moves out of range.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Lima stuffs the takedown attempt from Brown. Brown gets slowly back to his feet.
Brown dives in for a single leg takedown but Lima sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Despite the aggression on Lima's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Brown throws a sloppy head kick and Lima moves out of range easily.
Brown throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Brown misses with an attempted mid kick.

Lima leaves Brown with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Brown is breathing heavily.
Brown connects with a high kick.
Lima moves out of range of the body kick from Brown.
Lima rushes Brown and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Lima is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Brown gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Brown breaks from the clinch.
James Brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No joy there for Lima, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Lima gets a clinch.
Brown wants to get back to striking at distance but Lima won't allow it.
Brown is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Brown has had enough of the clinch but Lima keeps him there for the moment.
Lima landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Lima has clasped his hands together around Brown's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Brown is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Lima is controlling him well.
Lima stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Brown throws a push kick but Lima slaps the foot to one side.
Brown lands a head kick that stumbles Lima and the fighters go to the mat.
Lima is rocked!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that James Brown will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Nice takedown defense from Brown. No joy for Lima on that attempt.
Lima is still on wobbly legs! Can Brown finish him?
Brown is stalking Lima. Lima circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Brown, and it's lights out! Lima really payed the price for that rookie mistake.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:07 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). James Brown!
