Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Scott Trip (ranked 4071 p4p, 4865 weight class) and Matt Misrendino (ranked 382 p4p, 226 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Trip fires out a quick counter leg kick but Misrendino just manages to avoid it.

Misrendino dives in and grabs Trip's left leg, looking for a takedown. Trip pushes down on Misrendino's head and hops out.

Trip has Misrendino pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Misrendino manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Trip really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Trip has had enough of the clinch but Misrendino keeps him there for the moment.
Trip is pressed up against the cage. Misrendino has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Trip down to the mat. Trip avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Trip gets caught napping as Misrendino dives in and scores a takedown. Trip manages to retain guard.
Trip is looking to stand back up but Misrendino counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Trip.

Misrendino uses his free foot to push down on Trip's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Trip.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Misrendino looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Trip with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Misrendino is taking a breather. Trip says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Misrendino stalling away here and it's allowed Trip to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Trip throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Misrendino's waist but Misrendino gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Trip off to one side.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Trip lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Trip enables Misrendino to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Trip manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
