PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Samuel Kristofic (ranked 6700 p4p, 6062 weight class) and Niall Vu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

Nice sprawl there from Vu as Kristofic shoots in.
Kristofic misses with a takedown attempt - Vu sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Kristofic really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Kristofic tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Kristofic throws a hook but Vu avoids it easily.
Vu stuffs the takedown attempt from Kristofic. Kristofic gets slowly back to his feet.
Vu looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

and Kristofic counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Kristofic fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Vu has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Kristofic is fighting off a takedown attempt but Vu is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Kristofic to the mat. Kristofic regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Vu is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kristofic is just riding it out for now. Vu eventually gives up the hold.

That was a close round but I would say that Samuel Kristofic will probably get the nod.

Vu is trying to control Kristofic's posture but Kristofic avoids it.
Kristofic creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Vu sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Kristofic is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Vu looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Kristofic has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Kristofic's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Vu moves in looking to clinch but Kristofic pushes him off.

Vu gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kristofic to score an easy takedown into full guard.

That kick from Kristofic tenderised Vu's leg. Vu is trying to keep his angry face on.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Vu shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kristofic pinned against the cage. Kristofic gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Samuel Kristofic has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Niall Vu.

Vu closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Vu takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Vu stalling away here and it's allowed Kristofic to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
