Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Deshaun Davis (ranked 3550 p4p, 4909 weight class) and Miko Toms (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Deshaun Davis has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Miko Toms!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Peter Branson and Michael Johnstone.

Toms looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Toms trying to advance position but Davis counters by regaining guard.
Davis is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Toms loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Davis is looking to stand up but Toms isn't so interested in that idea.
Toms is pushing down on Davis's leg trying to pass to half guard. Davis is fighting to maintain full guard but Toms has managed to sneak the leg through.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Davis is trying to control but can't.
Davis holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Still in half guard, Toms seems content to control.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Toms landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Davis wants to control but Toms is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Toms drops an elbow to the side of Davis's head.
Toms lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Toms thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Davis's head.

Toms is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Davis has managed to free his arm - good work.

Davis is looking for a sweep. Toms is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Toms looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Davis with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Toms is thwarting Davis's attempts to control the position.
Toms passes into side control, despite Davis's attempt to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A bit of a lull in the action here.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Davis tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Toms swivels and escapes.

Toms shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Davis has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Toms is working away from the top position though.
Toms is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Toms decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Toms avoids the body shot from Davis.
Davis throws a body shot but no joy.
Toms doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.

Toms avoids a punch combination nicely.
Davis tries to work over Toms's front leg with a kick but Toms checks it.
Davis throws a wild body kick that Toms sees coming a mile off.
Toms wants to counter with a clinch but Davis pushes him away.

Toms shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Davis wants to stand back up but Toms manages to pass into side control.

Toms swings around for an armbar but Davis sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Toms's guard.
Toms tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Toms had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Davis defends it easily.
Davis is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Davis trying to control the position from guard on top but Toms is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Toms keeping full guard, as Davis tries to pass.
Toms looking for a sweep. Not yet Toms, not yet.
Toms has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Toms seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Toms keeping moving, preventing Davis from controlling successfully.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Toms wants to stand and escape but Davis is having none of it.

Toms has his foot on Davis's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Davis works his way back into a safe position though.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Davis scores with a head kick.
Davis lands a two punch combo.
Davis misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Toms.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Deshaun Davis dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Davis scores with a one two! Toms had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Toms's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Davis connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Toms scrambles back to his feet.
Toms tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Davis wants to clinch.
Toms unleashes a big counter combination but Davis bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Toms is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Davis's half guard.

Toms wants to lay and pray for a moment but Davis keeps working.

Toms decides to return to a standing position.
The fight stays on the outside here - Davis looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Davis is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Toms.
Davis moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Toms shoots in but no luck this time.
Davis swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

so Toms counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Toms trying to control but Davis is working from the bottom.
Miko Toms has got the better of the ground game so far.
Davis looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Davis being controlled here, momentarily.

Toms stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Davis missing with a left hand there. Toms was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Toms is looking for the big counter here.
Toms checks a leg kick nicely.
Toms changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Davis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Toms's waist but Toms gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Davis off to one side.
A slapping leg kick lands for Davis.
Davis lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Toms circles away quickly and effectively.

Toms closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Davis quickly recovers to half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Toms connects with a nice short shot to Davis's temple.

Davis has hold of Toms's hands but Toms slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Toms has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Toms is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Toms decides to stand up.
Davis closes the distance and clinches up with Toms, looking for a takedown. Davis pushes Toms against the cage but Toms circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Davis looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Davis misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Toms.
Toms looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Toms closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Davis to the mat! Davis manages to get full guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Miko Toms.
I think Toms has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
