Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hiroshi Papo!

Papo fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Petrov sprawls well initially but Papo persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Petrov tries to kick Papo off in order to stand up. Papo Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Petrov is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at St Petersburg MMA Gym, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
It looks like Papo might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

My spies in Advanced Fitness Inc. inform me that Papo has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Petrov is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Papo defends well.
Papo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Petrov swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Papo goes for a takedown attempt but Petrov pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Papo shoots in but Petrov avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Papo dives in for a single leg takedown but Petrov sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Petrov has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Papo uses from the top position.
Papo is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Papo is posturing up here but Petrov has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Papo tries to roll out but it's too tight and Papo has to tap! Slick submission there by Petrov!
