PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ryusaki Ninsei (ranked 25606 p4p, 3906 weight class) and Brooke Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryusaki Ninsei!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Brooke Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Shimada and Ren Mimura.

Ninsei drives through and clinches with Johnson against the cage.
Johnson jumps guard but Ninsei turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Johnson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ninsei stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Johnson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Johnson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Ninsei is looking for a sweep. Johnson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Johnson is looking to take a break and control but Ninsei is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Johnson has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Johnson lands a couple of good shots and Ninsei has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

Johnson is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Ninsei has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Johnson is not going to allow Ninsei to sit and survive in this position.

Ninsei is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

You can see the frustration on Ninsei's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Johnson is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Ninsei is defending well though. Johnson let's go of the attempt for now.
Ninsei is trying to get back to his feet but Johnson has full control of the position and if anything, Ninsei has just worked his way into a worse spot.

That's time! Ninsei's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Ninsei struggles to land a body shot inside as Johnson controls his hands.

Johnson has his foot on Ninsei's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ninsei works his way back into a safe position though.

Johnson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ninsei defends it easily.

Johnson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Johnson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ninsei doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ninsei manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Johnson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ninsei's guard.

Ninsei will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Brooke Johnson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Ninsei wants to pass the guard but Johnson is keeping the position.

Ryusaki Ninsei showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Johnson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
