Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Maurice Rue (ranked 3674 p4p, 4738 weight class) and Johnny McCain (ranked 435 p4p, 521 weight class). Johnny McCain has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Maurice Rue!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnny McCain!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Micheangelo Fripello and Roger Salmon.

McCain shoots for a double leg takedown but Rue sprawls well. He's pushed McCain's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
McCain shoots in looking for a takedown. Rue tries to sprawl out of it but McCain keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rue manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Rue tries to counter with a takedown but McCain is quick to defend against it.
Nice sprawl there from Rue as McCain shoots in.
Maurice Rue has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnny McCain.

McCain dives in and grabs Rue's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rue pushes down on McCain's head and hops out.

Rue really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Rue looks up at the clock and then as McCain takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Rue smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Rue is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt McCain will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Rue works to advance to full mount. McCain defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Rue cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Rue lands a big shot there that rocks McCain but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Rue won't let McCain get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
McCain throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rue's waist but Rue gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing McCain off to one side.
McCain shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Rue counters with a takedown into side control.
McCain tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Rue will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Rue has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Rue's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
This is a sustained period of stalling by Rue.

Well Rue has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
