Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bones McKenzie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, ed gein!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from McKenzie misses.

McKenzie decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
gein misses with some strikes from the bottom.
McKenzie wants to advance to full mount but gein doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
McKenzie won't allow gein to get back to his feet.
McKenzie trying to control the position from guard on top but gein is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
McKenzie looking to sit in guard and control but gein gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
McKenzie is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

gein wants to pass the guard but McKenzie is keeping the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
McKenzie avoids a punch combination nicely.
gein misses with a takedown
and McKenzie counters with a left to the body.
McKenzie tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
gein darts in trying to clinch

and McKenzie counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
McKenzie lands strikes from half guard.

McKenzie is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so gein is just riding it out for now. McKenzie eventually gives up the hold.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
gein is looking to control McKenzie's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can gein avoid being mounted?

gein tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
gein is trying to stand back up but McKenzie is controlling him
McKenzie sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. gein defending well though.
gein is refusing to be controlled, as McKenzie sits in half guard.
gein throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
gein connects with a nice looking jab.
gein will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
gein circles away from the clinch attempt

and gein counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
gein looks gassed!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
gein is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, McKenzie has managed to free his arm - good work.
McKenzie is looking to improve his position.

McKenzie makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
McKenzie blocks a jab.

McKenzie clinches.
gein gets underhooks to prevent McKenzie's takedown attempt.

gein manages to break the clinch.

McKenzie feints and as gein raises his hands in defense, McKenzie changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
McKenzie trying to control but gein is working from the bottom.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

McKenzie drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but gein manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now McKenzie has gein in his guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Bones McKenzie will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

ed gein seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

gein shoots in and bounces McKenzie off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
McKenzie is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

gein gets to his feet - McKenzie follows without any prompting.
gein is breathing heavily.

and gein counters with a takedown into side control.
McKenzie is looking for a sweep.

gein stands up and we're back to a striking position.

McKenzie changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. gein looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
gein pushes McKenzie away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, McKenzie gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
gein tries to improve position but can't.

McKenzie has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

This has been an exciting period of action!
gein throws a right and a left that both miss.
McKenzie shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
gein tries to close the distance and clinch but McKenzie swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
McKenzie tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but gein swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bones McKenzie. That's going to take a lot out of him.

gein shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has McKenzie pinned against the cage. McKenzie gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

McKenzie is looking to take a break and control but gein is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
gein wants to get back to his feet.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
McKenzie with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

McKenzie moves into the clinch.
McKenzie is trying to drag gein to the mat but gein just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
gein wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but McKenzie has him pressed against the cage.

McKenzie gets a trip takedown into half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
McKenzie wants to free his trapped foot but gein is holding on for dear life with his legs.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but ed gein will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

McKenzie stays in close to gein's body and controls the position.

McKenzie shoots in for a takedown but gein shows good takedown defense.

Bones McKenzie showed his dominance in that final round.
