Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Mckean (ranked 1031 p4p, 1174 weight class) and Abel Graves (ranked 146 p4p, 170 weight class). Graves has chosen Deadsoul Tribe - A Flight on an Angels Wing as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Michael Johnstone and Dirk Anderson.

Mckean fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Mckean darts in looking for a takedown but Graves gets double underhooks and turns Mckean into the cage.
Graves comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Graves scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Mckean doesn't seem bothered though.
Mckean definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Mckean changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Graves tries to avoid it but Mckean manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Graves to the ground. Graves escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Mckean. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Mckean feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Graves has his foot on Mckean's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mckean works his way back into a safe position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Graves looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mckean is one step ahead there.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mckean pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Graves is keeping the position for now.

Mckean stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Graves swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Graves lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Mckean is pulling down on Graves's head to control his posture.
Mckean utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Graves avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Graves accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Graves throws a sloppy strike and Mckean has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Graves is forced to tap! Great BJJ from Mckean!

After the fight, James Mckean was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
