PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Milhouse VanHouten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard B Kives (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Richard B Kives told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Roosa Järviläinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kives shoots in but no luck this time.
VanHouten swats away the attempt to clinch by Kives.
VanHouten throws a series of punches but Kives moves out of range.
Kives shoots in looking for a takedown. VanHouten tries to sprawl out of it but Kives keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. VanHouten manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
VanHouten wants to slow Kives down by chopping away at his legs.
VanHouten takes a swing at Kives's ribcage but misses.
VanHouten stuffs the takedown.
Milhouse VanHouten has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Richard B Kives.
Kives looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Kives takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

VanHouten cracks Kives with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Kives showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from VanHouten.
Kives misses with a takedown attempt - VanHouten sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Kives will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

VanHouten keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts VanHouten, as that shot connected.
Nice straight punches there by VanHouten. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of VanHouten.
VanHouten throws a right hand that Kives ducks under and follows up with a left that Kives also avoids with ease.
VanHouten looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
VanHouten tests Kives's chin there with a solid looking shot.
VanHouten goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

VanHouten is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
VanHouten will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
VanHouten's corner calls for a 1-2. VanHouten obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Kives is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
VanHouten feints a kick and comes over the top with a right hand, followed by a left hook - both land, sending Kives crashing to the mat! This one is all over!
