PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dick Pawlik (ranked 1298 p4p, 1556 weight class) and John Rbn (ranked 154 p4p, 181 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Pawlik connects with a nice looking jab.
Rbn thuds his right hand into Pawlik's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Nice defenses there by Pawlik.

Pawlik ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Pawlik throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Rbn stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Pawlik paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Pawlik uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Rbn.

Pawlik shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Pawlik showed some decent athleticism there.

Pawlik has control of Rbn's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Rbn regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Rbn wants to try and get back to his feet.
