PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mental Warrior (ranked 5411 p4p, 5305 weight class) and Ronael Mbuku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Warrior might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Side to Side. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, George Francis and Frank Dennis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mbuku tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Warrior counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
An inside leg kick from Mbuku misses.
Warrior displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mbuku.
Warrior throwing a counter right hand but Mbuku manages to avoid it.
Warrior avoids the head kick by Mbuku.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mbuku shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Warrior counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Warrior's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Mbuku moves into the clinch successfully.

Mbuku breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Mbuku throws a head kick that misses.
Warrior swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Mbuku fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Warrior is out of range.
Mbuku misses with a takedown attempt
and Warrior counters with a left to the body.
Mental Warrior has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ronael Mbuku.

and Warrior counters with a crisp right hand that drops Mbuku! Warrior lets Mbuku back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

Ronael Mbuku seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mbuku tries for a takedown but Warrior circles away easily
and Warrior counters with a right hand to the body.
Mbuku is still on wobbly legs! Can Warrior finish him?
Mbuku looks winded!
Mbuku misses with a takedown attempt
and Warrior counters with a powerful cross that connects right on the chin and the lights go out! A massive one punch knock out!
