The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ameobi rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Labasil moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Labasil tries to counter with a clinch but Ameobi shakes him off and moves away.

Labasil throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Ameobi tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Labasil is in Ameobi's guard.
Ameobi wants to get back to his feet but Labasil is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Labasil's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Labasil stops Ameobi from standing up.
Labasil is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ameobi has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Labasil off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Labasil doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Ameobi counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

It looks like Krinton Labasil has been cut.
Krinton Labasil seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ameobi throws a right hand that Labasil ducks under and follows up with a left that Labasil also avoids with ease.

Labasil breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Ameobi has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Labasil is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Labasil closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Ameobi's guard.

Ameobi manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Labasil shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Labasil showed some decent athleticism there.
