PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between King Dick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Owen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Dick might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Thunderstruck. Max Owen will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Owen stuffs the takedown.
Dick avoids the head kick by Owen.
Nice sprawl there from Dick as Owen shoots in.
Owen is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Dick has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Owen is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Dick jumps guard but Owen stands there with Dick around his waist. Dick gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Dick shoots in looking for a takedown. Owen tries to sprawl out of it but Dick keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Owen manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Dick dodges an elbow strike from Owen.
Owen throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Dick blocks it with crossed arms.

Dick jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Owen walks away with a smile on his face. Dick gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Dick shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Owen but Owen pushes him off and we're back to square one.

and Owen counters with a head kick. That will keep Dick thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Dick drops down looking for an ankle pick but Owen pulls his leg out and moves away.
Dick avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.

Dick drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Owen manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Dick has Owen in his guard.

Owen gets to his feet. Dick looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Dick jumps guard but Owen stands there with Dick around his waist. Dick gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Owen bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Dick closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Dick lands in his opponent's guard.

Dick is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Dick wants to take a breather but Owen is having none of it.
Dick is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

Owen avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Owen keeping moving, preventing Dick from controlling successfully.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Owen is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Dick looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Owen!

Owen is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
King Dick overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Dick is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Owen can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
You get the feeling that Owen really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Owen suckers Dick into throwing a sloppy strike and uses the momentum to reverse the position beautifully! Owen is now in Dick's guard!
Dick wants to sweep but no luck.

King Dick showed his dominance in that final round.
