Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Lewis (ranked 6737 p4p, 4670 weight class) and Matt Xtra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Xtra changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Xtra closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Lewis to the mat! Lewis manages to get full guard.
Lewis is looking to stand up but Xtra isn't so interested in that idea.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Xtra drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Xtra jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Lewis dives in and grabs Xtra's left leg, looking for a takedown. Xtra pushes down on Lewis 's head and hops out.

Xtra steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Lewis . That one must have hurt.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Xtra goes for a double leg but Lewis avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Lewis continues to drive forward.

Xtra drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Lewis is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Xtra dives into side control.
