Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Nathan Rodgers!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Michael Johnstone and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodgers tries a head kick but it misses.
Rodgers should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
King throws a lazy right hand but Rodgers sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
King throws a poor cross that misses

and Rodgers counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for King!
King stops Rodgers from passing to mount.
Rodgers creates some space and throws a big elbow, but King sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Rodgers tries for a kimura but King is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
King is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Rodgers has eaten all the pies!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

It looks like Rodgers might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Rodgers is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. King is defending well though. Rodgers let's go of the attempt for now.
King is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
King is trapped and Rodgers is scoring with shots to the head and body.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rodgers is trying to maintain the position but King is very close to passing his half guard.

King wants to work for an arm triangle but Rodgers is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

That was a close second round but I would say that Island King will probably get the nod.
