The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
An inside leg kick from Destro misses.
Destro pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Destro stalks Da Santiago and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Da Santiago's face. Da Santiago staggers backwards, shaken.
Da Santiago looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Destro is fending him off so far but Da Santiago persists. Nope, Destro circles away and we're back to standing.

Destro closes the distance and pushes Da Santiago back into the cage.

Da Santiago drags the fight down to the ground.
Destro would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Destro postures up.
Destro really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Da Santiago. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Destro trying to stand up but can't free himself from Da Santiago's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Da Santiago has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Destro can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Destro wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Da Santiago's closed guard. He's half up but Da Santiago has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Da Santiago pivots and extends the arm, Destro falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Da Santiago! Well done that man!
