Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Alec Burns (ranked 2053 p4p, 224 weight class) and Peter Petrov (ranked 941 p4p, 117 weight class). Burns's entrance music is Alberto Del Rio theme song. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Burns, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Burns scores with a punch to the head.

It looks like Peter Petrov has been cut.
Burns throws a quick inside leg kick.
Burns tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Petrov walks into a left hand.
Burns lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Petrov circles away quickly and effectively.
Petrov avoids the head kick by Burns.
Burns has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Despite the aggression on Petrov's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Petrov shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Petrov showed some decent athleticism there.

Burns is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Petrov is controlling him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Burns throws a right and a left that Petrov avoids nicely.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Burns shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Petrov eats them both and turns towards Burns to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Burns is on top in guard.

Petrov controls Burns momentarily but Burns frees himself.

Petrov looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Burns is defending well. Petrov quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Burns has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Petrov celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
