PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dwight Darko (ranked 5873 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pedro Lee (ranked 5236 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Darko closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Lee to the mat! Lee manages to get full guard.

Lee stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Darko to get to his feet.

Darko looks to land a combination but Lee avoids it well.
Darko attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Lee fails with an attempt to clinch.
Lee lands a slapping body shot.

Darko throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Despite the aggression on Lee's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Darko has taken the fight to the clinch.

Darko pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Lee shoots for a takedown but Darko saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Darko appears to be looking for a big counter.

Darko slaps away a takedown attempt from Lee, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Darko closes the distance and clinches.
Darko is trying to break the clinch but Lee has him pressed against the cage.
Lee lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.

Darko escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Darko takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Lee shoots for a takedown but Darko saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Lee fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Darko looks to land a left hand but Lee moved out of range nicely.

Lee jumps into guard, dragging Darko to the mat.

Darko stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lee swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Darko knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lee on the ground.
Lee throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Darko forces his way into half guard.
Lee tries to kick Darko off but Darko keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Darko scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Lee is looking to improve his position.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Lee is looking to control Darko's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Lee avoid being mounted?
Darko wants to stand up but Lee is controlling the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Darko moves into the clinch.
Darko tries to pull guard but Lee forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Lee's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Darko avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Darko closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Lee stalling in the clinch but Darko improves position.
Lee tries to pull guard but Darko won't allow it.

Darko gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Darko tries to free his leg and advance position but Lee is retaining full guard.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Lee tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Darko defends well and Lee ends up having to push Darko into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Darko isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Lee stacks Darko on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Lee!

Lee is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Darko is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Lee gets to mount! Darko was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Darko wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.

Lee punches Darko on the ear.
Darko can't escape the position.

Lee working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Darko is doing well to defend. Lee seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Darko is forced to tap and this one is over!
