Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Richard Brenner (ranked 3700 p4p, 444 weight class) and Trevor Fitch (ranked 4004 p4p, 470 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fitch tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Brenner was well out of range. Poor timing from Fitch.
Fitch ducks right into an uppercut from Brenner.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Fitch.
Brenner stuffs the takedown.
Brenner was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Fitch throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Brenner lands a right hook to the body.
Fitch defending well as Brenner loads up on a big left hand.
Brenner pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Fitch back to the cage. Brenner follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

It looks like Trevor Fitch has been cut.
Fitch misses the jab.
Fitch jabs at Brenner's body.

Fitch throws an off balance right hand
and Brenner cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Fitch swings and misses with a hook to the body.
An inside leg kick lands from Brenner.
Brenner takes a swing at Fitch's ribcage but misses.
Fitch looks to score with a jab to the body but Brenner is just out of range.

Fitch misses the shot to the body.
Brenner works the jab nicely.
We've been informed that Fitch has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Fitch is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Brenner rather than just go for the knockout.
Brenner throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Fitch misses the jab.
Fitch closes this distance looking for a takedown but Brenner circles away.
Richard Brenner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Trevor Fitch.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Fitch.

Fitch working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Brenner is looking to regain half guard here but Fitch keeps moving and retains side control.
Brenner knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Fitch on the ground.

Fitch is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Brenner knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Fitch goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Brenner has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Fitch but great work by Brenner.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fitch has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Brenner is working away from the top position though.

Fitch is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Brenner pulls his head out easily.

Fitch is not content to let Brenner control the position.

Fitch is looking for a sweep. Brenner is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Fitch looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Brenner wants to stand but Fitch has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Fitch has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Brenner. Oh but Fitch has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Brenner goes limp - he's gone! Fitch jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
