Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Franklin Fury (ranked 3849 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juan Owts (ranked 5087 p4p, 0 weight class). Fury comes into the arena with J Dilla - Glazed blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Owts fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Fury to the ground. Owts is now in Fury's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Owts preventing the sweep.
Owts postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Fury working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Owts doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Owts manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Fury wants to sweep here but Owts controlling him for the moment.
Owts really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fury. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Owts wants to control from the top but Fury keeps moving.
Fury wants to improve his position but instead Owts has moved into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fury tries to roll over but Owts keeps him under control.

Owts tries to stand and escape but Fury is controlling the position.
Fury moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Fury has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Owts can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Owts is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Fury might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Fury could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Fury is looking for a sweep. Owts is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The fighters are battling for position here. Fury manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Owts avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Fury is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Owts frees his head nicely. Oh but Fury has switched to an armbar! Owts is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
