PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Logan Paul (ranked 6749 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lukas Hooper (ranked 3772 p4p, 0 weight class). Lukas Hooper told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Logan Paul!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Lukas Hooper!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Atkins and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paul darts in trying to clinch
and Hooper counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Paul is trying to keep Hooper in close.
Hooper drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hooper jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Hooper slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Paul is trying to improve his position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Paul controls the position for a moment.
Paul wants to get back to his feet but Hooper drags him back down.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Paul is looking to reverse the position.
Hooper tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hooper has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Paul tries to bench press Hooper off him but Hooper keeps the position.
Paul is working hard here to advance position.
Hooper controls the position from side control.
Hooper has hold of Paul's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Paul seems comfortable defending it but Hooper has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Paul is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Paul is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Hooper couldn't care less - he's delighted!
