Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Germaine Dorticos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Mark Spencer!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Franklyn Lucas and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spencer throws a good cross that connects.
It looks like Germaine Dorticos has been cut.
Spencer throws out a loose jab but Dorticos uses good head movement to avoid it.
Dorticos attempts a counter takedown but Spencer avoids it well and moves away.
Mark Spencer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Spencer misses with a looping right.
Dorticos half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Spencer throws a body shot but no joy.
Spencer misses with an uppercut.
Dorticos defending well as Spencer loads up on a big left hand.
Dorticos tries to move into range but Spencer moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Spencer throws a hook but Dorticos avoids it easily.
Dorticos steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Spencer.
Dorticos tries to counter with a takedown but Spencer is quick to defend against it.
Spencer scores with a sloppy right hand. Dorticos should have avoided that one.
Spencer misses with a straight right.
Dorticos takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Spencer lands with a nice body punch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Dorticos tries to land a body kick
and Spencer connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Dorticos throws a sloppy head kick and Spencer moves out of range easily.
Spencer drops Dorticos with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Dorticos looks back up at him and smiles so Spencer waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Dorticos is rocked!
Spencer darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Dorticos's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Spencer before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Mark Spencer!
