PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jeff jr Monsoon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lubomir Moravcik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jeff jr Monsoon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Lubomir Moravcik!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Paul Tew and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Monsoon feints and as Moravcik raises his hands in defense, Monsoon changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Monsoon slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Monsoon pushes down on Moravcik's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Moravcik is looking to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Monsoon keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Moravcik is not content to let Monsoon control the position.
Monsoon controlling the action here.
Moravcik looks like he's trying to stand up.
Monsoon seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Moravcik does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Monsoon is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Moravcik defends it well.
Monsoon passes the guard and advances to mount!
Moravcik holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Monsoon tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Moravcik trying desperately to get to his feet.

Monsoon stands up from mount. Strange move.
Monsoon moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Moravcik misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Monsoon fails with a takedown attempt.
Jeff jr Monsoon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Monsoon.
Monsoon fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeff jr Monsoon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Moravcik stuffs the takedown.
Monsoon is breathing heavily.
Horrible takedown by Monsoon or perhaps it was just good defense by Moravcik which made him look bad.
Lubomir Moravcik is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Moravcik bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.


It looks like Jeff jr Monsoon has been cut.
Moravcik lands with a straight right. Monsoon didn't see that one coming.
Monsoon tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Moravcik swivels and escapes.
Moravcik keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Moravcik throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Monsoon's head.
Moravcik dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Danga de danga de dang - Moravcik scores with a four punch combination!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Moravcik lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Monsoon changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Moravcik tries to avoid it but Monsoon manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Moravcik to the ground. Moravcik escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Monsoon takes a kick to the side of the head.
Moravcik throws a nice head kick!
Moravcik tries to bum rush Monsoon with a series of wild strikes but Monsoon uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Moravcik scores with a head kick.
Moravcik throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Monsoon.
Monsoon has a takedown stuffed.

Monsoon closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The ground and pound from Monsoon seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Moravcik is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Monsoon asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Moravcik really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Monsoon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Monsoon wants to control but Moravcik is keeping him busy.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Monsoon controls the position.
Monsoon wants to lay and pray for a moment but Moravcik keeps working.

Monsoon has an Americana. Moravcik didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Monsoon is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Monsoon hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Jeff jr Monsoon!
