The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Haynes shoots in but no luck this time.
Mongrel misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Haynes shoots for a double leg takedown but Mongrel sprawls well. He's pushed Haynes's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Haynes fails with the takedown.
Mongrel looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Josh Haynes Haynes. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mongrel lands with a nice combination. Haynes backs away looking to recover.

It looks like Josh Haynes Haynes has been cut.
Haynes throws a lazy head kick
and Mongrel connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Mongrel jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Mongrel stuffs the takedown.
Josh Haynes Haynes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Haynes takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Haynes fails to land the takedown.
Mongrel cracks Haynes with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Mongrel fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Mongrel throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Haynes stumbling backwards into the cage! Haynes bounces back off the cage towards Mongrel , who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Mongrel lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Mongrel celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.

Island Mongrel tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
