Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ben Jacobs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lucas Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Gwen Towbar and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jacobs.
Johnson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Johnson scores with a kick to the midsection.
Johnson moves out of range of the body kick from Jacobs.
Jacobs fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Johnson avoids it really well and circles away.
Jacobs blocks a head kick by Johnson.
Jacobs throws a head kick that misses.
Jacobs takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jacobs takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

Jacobs darts in and clinches Johnson up against the cage.

Jacobs jumps guard and drags Johnson to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Jacobs has a closed guard, preventing Johnson from standing up.
Jacobs on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jacobs tries to get out of the position.

Johnson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jacobs. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Jacobs is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Jacobs has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Jacobs is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Jacobs's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Jacobs will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Jacobs stands up and beckons Johnson to join him on the feet.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Johnson fakes the leg kick and cracks Jacobs in the body.

Jacobs fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Johnson, pushing him back against the cage.
Johnson wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Johnson is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Jacobs is keeping busy.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Jacobs's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ben Jacobs dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Johnson lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Johnson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A thudding body kick lands there by Johnson!

Jacobs clinches with his opponent.

Jacobs decides to pull guard.
Johnson won't allow Jacobs to sweep him here.
Jacobs is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jacobs with a couple of shots from the bottom there - nothing Johnson can't handle though.

Johnson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jacobs has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Johnson has managed to get both his arms back between Jacobs's legs - danger averted.
Jacobs seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Jacobs has his feet on Johnson's thighs here. He's pushed Johnson off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Johnson screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
