PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lazy Bastard (ranked 3032 p4p, 321 weight class) and David Yung (ranked 1164 p4p, 142 weight class). Yung has chosen 陳小春 - 亂世巨星 as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bastard throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Yung sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Bastard fails to land with a series of punches.
Yung with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Bastard to score with a decent uppercut.
Bastard slips a straight right by Yung.
Yung tries to clinch up but Bastard circles away and keeps his distance.
Bastard thows a left - swing and a miss!
Yung connects with an inside leg kick.
Bastard goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Bastard lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Yung is rocked!
Bastard punishes Yung's body with a nice straight punch.
Yung looks to land a body kick but Bastard moved away.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Yung stuns Bastard with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Yung wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Yung throws a looping overhand right but Bastard ducks down to avoid it.
Bastard looks to throw the jab but Yung is out of range.
Bastard sizes up Yung with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Yung has managed to clinch.
Bastard stops a takedown attempt from Yung.
Bastard has a couple of punches blocked by Yung.

Bastard breaks the clinch.

Bastard misses with a right hand
and Yung counters with a nice leg kick.
Yung fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Bastard.
Yung takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Bastard uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Yung.
Bastard moves out of range of the strikes.
Bastard seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Bastard swinging wildly here.
Bastard tests Yung's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Yung ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Bastard on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Bastard misses the jab.
It seemed like Yung was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Bastard stuns Yung with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Yung wants to slow Bastard down by chopping away at his legs.
Bastard moves out of range as Yung throws a body kick.
Yung looks to throw the jab but Bastard is out of range.

Yung is still on wobbly legs! Can Bastard finish him?
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bastard throws a body shot but no joy.
Yung seems to have recovered his senses.
Bastard bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Bastard walks into a stiff left hand from Yung.
A nice leg kick lands there from Yung.
Bastard throws a series of punches but Yung moves out of range.
Yung goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Yung throws a head kick that misses.
Yung misses with a wild body shot.
Bastard swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Bastard tries to move into range but Yung moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Yung misses with a straight left.
Bastard will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Yung steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Bastard.
Bastard checks a low kick from Yung.
Yung throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Yung throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Yung takes the fight into the clinch.

Bastard breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Yung uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bastard.

Yung displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Bastard throws out the jab.
Yung keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Yung missing with a left hand there. Bastard was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Bastard misses with a straight left.
Lazy Bastard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Yung ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Yung throws a low kick but Bastard avoids it.
Lazy Bastard is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A head kick misses from Yung.
It looked like Bastard was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Bastard checks a leg kick.
Bastard stalks Yung and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Yung's face. Yung staggers backwards, shaken.
Yung is looking to clinch but Bastard is avoiding it.
Bastard really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Bastard blocks the body kick.
Bastard throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Yung sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Yung displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Bastard jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Bastard throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Yung throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Bastard's head.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Bastard checks a leg kick.
Bastard lands with an overhand left.

Yung clinches up with Bastard and pushes him back against the cage.
Yung can't get the takedown.
I was talking to Bastard's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bastard misses with a short punch on the inside.
Yung wants a takedown.
Lazy Bastard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Yung.
Bastard lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Bastard scores with a shoulder strike.
Bastard is trying to break free.
Yung goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Yung can't find room to land a body shot as Bastard controls the action.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Yung tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Bastard smiles and moves away.
Bastard throws a right and a left that Yung avoids nicely.
Nice uppercut lands for Bastard. That snapped Yung's head back.

Yung closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Bastard did well to prevent Yung getting side control.

Bastard has one foot on Yung's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lazy Bastard dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Both fighters circling a little - Yung finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Yung throws an overhand right that lands on Bastard's shoulder, as Bastard tries to avoid the shot.
Bastard throws a jab but it's blocked by Yung.
Yung wants to counter the offense by Bastard and move into the clinch position.
Lazy Bastard is winning the standup battle so far.
Bastard blocks a head kick by Yung.
Bastard pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Yung fails with a takedown attempt.
Yung is looking to clinch but Bastard is avoiding it.
Bastard misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Yung.
Yung only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Bastard misses with a jab, cross combination.
Bastard throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bastard ducks under a wild hook from Yung.
Bastard misses with the combination.

Oooooh!!! Bastard has knocked Yung down with a huge combo! Bastard steps away and waves a wobbly Yung back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Bastard throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Yung colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Bastard as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Yung is left battered and dazed whilst Bastard and his camp cheer!
