Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Russell McCullough (ranked 3910 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juan Sanchez Aranguiz (ranked 5375 p4p, 0 weight class). Russell McCullough looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Juan Sanchez Aranguiz!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, John Roberts and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCullough throws a series of punches but Aranguiz moves out of range.

McCullough lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Aranguiz circles away quickly and effectively.
McCullough misses with a jab, cross combination.
McCullough throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
McCullough cracks Aranguiz with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Aranguiz shoots in for a double leg but McCullough sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Aranguiz misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
McCullough checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
McCullough swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

McCullough will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Despite the aggression on Aranguiz's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Aranguiz feints and as McCullough raises his hands in defense, Aranguiz changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Aranguiz's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Aranguiz stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and McCullough has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Aranguiz manages to get his head free but now McCullough has transitioned to an armbar! Aranguiz grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from McCullough! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
