PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lynton Miller (ranked 1019 p4p, 128 weight class) and Killua Zoldyk (ranked 1783 p4p, 203 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lynton Miller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Killua Zoldyk!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Sosuke Kotani and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zoldyk throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Miller is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Miller darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
We've been hearing good reports from Miller's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Zoldyk avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Miller throws out a loose jab but Zoldyk uses good head movement to avoid it.

Miller shoots in looking for a takedown. Zoldyk tries to sprawl out of it but Miller keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Zoldyk manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Miller throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Zoldyk avoids a punch combination nicely.
Miller is looking to clinch but Zoldyk is avoiding it.
Miller looks to score with a jab to the body but Zoldyk is just out of range.

Miller lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.


It looks like Killua Zoldyk has been cut.

Miller clinches up with Zoldyk and pushes him back against the cage.

Miller tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Zoldyk has had enough of the clinch but Miller keeps him there for the moment.

Miller has hold of one of Zoldyk's legs. Zoldyk is fighting the takedown attempt but Miller gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Miller throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Zoldyk works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Miller stands up over Zoldyk, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Zoldyk is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Zoldyk is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Miller seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Zoldyk for as long as he can get away with.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Zoldyk has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Miller should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Zoldyk has tightened it up now! Miller should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
