Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Lors (ranked 3977 p4p, 442 weight class) and Kobe Covington (ranked 7118 p4p, 601 weight class). Lors comes to the cage accompanied by Enter Sandman. Covington has chosen Starboy as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chuck Lors!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kobe Covington!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Micheangelo Fripello and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lors fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Covington on the side of the head.

Covington shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Lors manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Lors definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Covington wants to control from the top but Lors keeps moving.
Covington pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Lors is keeping the position for now.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Covington accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Covington seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Covington wants to control from the top but Lors keeps moving.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Covington drops back looking for a leg! Lors is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lors manages to kick Covington off! Covington jumps back into Lors's guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Covington looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Lors swinging wildly here.
Lors throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Covington steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Lors.

Covington throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Lors was covering up waiting for the punch and Covington finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Covington won't allow Lors to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Covington scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Covington controls from within his opponent's guard.
Covington trying to control the position from guard on top but Lors is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Lors is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Covington dives into side control.
Covington works to advance to full mount. Lors defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Lors is squirming around, avoiding Covington's attempts to control the action.

Covington is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Lors is surviving well by controlling Covington's body position as best he can.
Covington tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Lors is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Covington is landing with some decent strikes but Lors is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Lors tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Lors tries to buck Covington off but he can't manage it.
Covington trying to control but Lors is having none of it.
Covington controlling the position easily from mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kobe Covington dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


The fighters circle momentarily. Lors darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Lors misses with a jab, cross combination.
Kobe Covington is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Covington takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Lors just misses with a punch to the body.

Lors gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Covington to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Covington tries to free his leg and advance position but Lors is retaining full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Covington won't allow Lors to sweep him here.
Covington slips nicely into half guard.
Lors is refusing to be controlled, as Covington sits in half guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Covington is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Lors sees it coming and defends easily.
Lors is trying to maintain the position but Covington is very close to passing his half guard.
Lors on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lors tries to get out of the position.
Still in half guard, Covington seems content to control.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Covington drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Lors is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Covington asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Lors tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Covington controlling from the full mount.
Lors is trying desperately to improve position.
Covington controlling the position easily from mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Lors is wriggling around trying to escape.
Covington controlling his opponent.
Kobe Covington has got the better of the ground game so far.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Covington's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Covington looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kobe Covington showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Covington uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Lors.
Covington ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Lors gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Covington to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Covington is pushing down on Lors's leg trying to pass to half guard. Lors is fighting to maintain full guard but Covington has managed to sneak the leg through.
Covington slips a nice elbow through Lors's hands, connecting with Lors's forehead.
Lors trying to hold on to Covington's head to control him but Covington postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lors tries to roll over but Covington keeps him under control.
Covington is keen to just control but Lors is a slippery customer.

Covington prevents Lors from improving his position.

Covington is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Lors tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Covington has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Covington tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Covington is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Lors can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Covington tries to control but Lors wriggling away.

Lors is trying to stand.
Covington wants to control the pace but Lors is squirming around nicely.
Covington might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Lors haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Covington lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Lors is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Lors tries to reverse the position but Covington maintains control.

Covington looking for a guillotine from mount but Lors is having none of it.
Lors tries to control the position but Covington now has his back.
Lors knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Covington on the ground.
Lors just trying to survive but Covington is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Lors is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Covington.
Chuck Lors has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kobe Covington is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Lors trying to get back to his feet but Covington is in full control for now.

Kobe Covington comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Covington winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
