The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Showaikh doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Melamies cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Showaikh misses with a takedown attempt - Melamies sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Showaikh shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Melamies counters with a stiff right hand.
Ibrahim Mamu Melamies has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hamza Showaikh.
Showaikh fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Oooooh!!! Melamies has knocked Showaikh down with a huge combo! Melamies steps away and waves a wobbly Showaikh back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Melamies cracks Showaikh on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Showaikh falls backwards against the cage. Melamies follows up with more strikes that drop Showaikh to his knees. Melamies keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Showaikh! This one is all over!

After the fight, Ibrahim Mamu Melamies was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
