PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Besy Jyre (ranked 3388 p4p, 379 weight class) and Bob Vendarra (ranked 3092 p4p, 357 weight class). Vendarra comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Metallica - Of Wolf And Man kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jyre fails with a takedown attempt.
Vendarra swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Vendarra dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Jyre. That did some damage!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jyre closes the distance and clinches up with Vendarra, looking for a takedown. Jyre pushes Vendarra against the cage but Vendarra circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Vendarra is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Jyre is nestled in close to Vendarra, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
