The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garibaldi uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Brooks.
It looked like Garibaldi was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Brooks.

I was talking to Garibaldi's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Brooks wants to get back to striking at distance but Garibaldi won't allow it.

Brooks manages to break the clinch.

A little feinted left hand from Garibaldi on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Garibaldi tries to close the distance and clinch but Brooks swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Brooks let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Brooks.
A jab lands there for Brooks.

and Garibaldi makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Garibaldi takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
