PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bill Oddie (ranked 3669 p4p, 322 weight class) and Baeddan MacAuliffe (ranked 2883 p4p, 272 weight class). Oddie comes to the cage accompanied by Wild Thing. MacAuliffe has chosen Notorious by Duran Duran as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Oddie pushes MacAuliffe up against the cage in a clinch.
Oddie wants to break free but MacAuliffe has control.
Oddie tries to circle away but MacAuliffe has him pinned against the cage.

Oddie breaks the clinch.
MacAuliffe throws a head kick but Oddie moves out of range.
A slow jab from Oddie misses its intended target.
Oddie blocks a low kick nicely.
Oddie went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

MacAuliffe gets caught flat footed, as Oddie shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

MacAuliffe working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Oddie doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oddie manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Oddie is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Westside Martial Arts that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

MacAuliffe has his foot on Oddie's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Oddie works his way back into a safe position though.

Oddie lying in MacAuliffe's guard like a wet fish here, stalling away. MacAuliffe decides he's had enough of all that nonsense - he escapes his hips and locks up an armbar! Wow, that was slick! Oddie taps! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
