The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Franklyn Lucas and John Roberts.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carvaleho throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Barbosa tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Carvaleho is in Barbosa's guard.

Barbosa is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Carvaleho defends well.
Carvaleho wants to control from the top but Barbosa keeps moving.
Carvaleho tries to free his leg and advance position but Barbosa is retaining full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Carvaleho thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Carvaleho is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Carvaleho is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Carvaleho slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
A jab from Barbosa finds it's way through Carvaleho's defenses.
The fighters circling - Carvaleho throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Barbosa connects with a right hand. Carvaleho shakes it off.

Barbosa throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Carvaleho changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Barbosa tries to avoid it but Carvaleho manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Barbosa to the ground. Barbosa escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Daniel Barbosa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carvaleho ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Barbosa moves away.
Carvaleho takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Barbosa throws a right hand that Carvaleho ducks under and follows up with a left that Carvaleho also avoids with ease.
And Carvaleho tries to counter it with a takedown but Barbosa pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Carvaleho tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Carvaleho drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Barbosa defends it well.

Barbosa lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Carvaleho at a distance.
Barbosa connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Carvaleho uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Barbosa.
Barbosa lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Barbosa throws a body punch but Carvaleho moves out of range.

Carvaleho walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Daniel Barbosa is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Carvaleho dives in and scores a takedown into Barbosa's guard.
Carvaleho passes Barbosa's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carvaleho wants to pass to mount but Barbosa is defending the position.

Carvaleho seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Barbosa is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
