Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Keisuke Matsuzaka (ranked 2402 p4p, 286 weight class) and Spud Higgins (ranked 4856 p4p, 450 weight class). Higgins has chosen Lynyrd Skynrd - Gimme Three Steps as his entrance music. Keisuke Matsuzaka is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab by Matsuzaka.

Higgins clinches.
Higgins is trying to break free.
Matsuzaka lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Higgins backwards.
Higgins is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Matsuzaka pushes Higgins back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

Higgins breaks the clinch.
Higgins lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Higgins misses with a hook. Matsuzaka ducked under it nicely.
Matsuzaka fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Higgins looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Matsuzaka wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Higgins throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Matsuzaka throws out a powerful jab.
Higgins misses with a takedown

and Matsuzaka counters by clinching up.
Matsuzaka lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
A nice left hand lands by Matsuzaka.
Higgins wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Higgins takes an elbow to the temple.
Higgins has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

It looks like Spud Higgins has been cut.
Matsuzaka blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Matsuzaka lands a damaging elbow.
Matsuzaka stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Higgins tries to pull guard but Matsuzaka holds him up against the cage and eventually Higgins drops back down to his feet.
Higgins tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Matsuzaka avoids it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Higgins takes an elbow to the forehead.
Matsuzaka's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

That has opened up Spud Higgins's cut even more.
Matsuzaka lands a nice elbow.
Higgins looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Higgins takes an elbow to the forehead.
Higgins is still on wobbly legs! Can Matsuzaka finish him?
Matsuzaka creates some distance and fires off a vicious elbow that drops Higgins! He pounces and finishes the fight with more strikes! Nice KO for Matsuzaka.
