The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Santana closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Ueno makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

We've been told by Santana's head coaches at Cozad MMA Hilo that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Ueno has Santana pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Santana is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Ueno - that's hurt Santana badly! Oh, another knee lands and Santana is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Santana doesn't seem to be complaining.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knees). Koji Ueno!
