Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Peter Parker (ranked 3293 p4p, 339 weight class) and Tatsuya Kimura (ranked 2692 p4p, 289 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Peter Parker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tatsuya Kimura!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Parker closes the distance and pushes Kimura back into the cage.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Parker blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Kimura gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Kimura looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Parker is trying to stand back up but Kimura is controlling him
Kimura is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Parker reverses the position - he's now on top in Kimura's guard.

Kimura defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Parker.
We've been hearing good reports from Parker's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Parker has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Kimura is looking to get to half guard.

Parker is in the full mount, landing strikes.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kimura really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Parker. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kimura slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Parker has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Parker content to control rather than advance.

Parker is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Kimura!

Parker pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
BOOM! Parker connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Kimura can't escape the position.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Parker lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Kimura is desperately trying to improve his position but Parker has a good base and remains in mount.
Kimura looks winded!
Parker sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Parker lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Parker content just to control the position here.
Parker postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Kimura looks a forlorn figure.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Peter Parker dominated that round.
That's time! Parker's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Kimura is looking to clinch but Parker is avoiding it.
Parker swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Peter Parker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Parker has a takedown stuffed.
Kimura leaves Parker with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Kimura stuffs the takedown attempt from Parker. Parker gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Peter Parker. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Parker darts in looking for a takedown but Kimura gets double underhooks and turns Parker into the cage.
Kimura moves out of range as Parker throws a body kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Parker moves into the clinch.
Parker wants to break the clinch but can't.
Kimura taking a breather.

Parker's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kimura has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far.

Parker on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Parker moves forwards but Kimura connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Parker moves into the clinch.
Parker prevents the takedown attempt.
Kimura is breathing heavily.
Parker gets underhooks to prevent Kimura's takedown attempt.
Parker tries to pull guard but Kimura holds him up against the cage and eventually Parker drops back down to his feet.
Parker has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kimura is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Parker wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Kimura has him pressed against the cage.

Parker has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kimura uses from the top position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Parker is on top in guard.

Parker passes Kimura's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Well, if Parker is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

This is a sustained period of stalling by Parker.
Parker passes to side control.
Kimura tries to bench press Parker off him but Parker keeps the position.
Parker lands a nice forearm strike.
Kimura is looking to regain half guard here but Parker keeps moving and retains side control.

Parker is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kimura has escaped the position, nice work there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kimura looking for a sweep but Parker has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Parker manages to capitalize on a mistake by Kimura to take his back!

Parker landing with strikes.

Parker is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Kimura knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Kimura for a finish.
Kimura covers up after that shot from Parker.
Parker lands a shot to the head.
Parker is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.

Parker is cranking Kimura's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Kimura! He's tightened the choke and Kimura is tapping out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Peter Parker!
