Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Roon Vander Esch (ranked 3207 p4p, 0 weight class) and Boobie Bobby (ranked 23419 p4p, 0 weight class). Boobie Bobby is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Roon Vander Esch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Boobie Bobby!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Aleksandr Martynov and Sergei Dronov.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Bobby. Those never looked like landing.
A telegraphed right hand from Vander Esch misses the target.
Vander Esch swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Bobby counters with a one-two to the body.
Vander Esch pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Bobby gets a takedown into half guard.

Vander Esch has one foot on Bobby's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Vander Esch closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bobby circles away.

Vander Esch feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Vander Esch tries to free his leg and advance position but Bobby is retaining full guard.

Vander Esch drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Vander Esch jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Vander Esch stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bobby swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Vander Esch wants to control from the top but Bobby keeps moving.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Vander Esch is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Vander Esch shoots in for a takedown but Bobby shows good takedown defense.
Bobby pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Vander Esch back to the cage. Bobby follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

It looks like Roon Vander Esch has been cut.
Vander Esch has been working on his balance at Iron Man (Fitness & Sparring), so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Bobby.

and Bobby counters with a huge head kick that drops Vander Esch! The ref dives in to stop the fight and the crowd goes wild!
