PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Cyber Bully (ranked 1857 p4p, 210 weight class) and Jack Lynn (ranked 1403 p4p, 160 weight class). Jack Lynn told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cyber Bully!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jack Lynn!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Frank Dennis and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bully scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Lynn takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Lynn shoots in for a takedown but Bully shows good takedown defense.
Bully has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Bully gets caught flat footed, as Lynn shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Bully is looking for a triangle but Lynn pushes his legs off easily.
Bully pulls Lynn in close to prevent any damage.
Lynn controls from within his opponent's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bully isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Lynn stacks Bully on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Lynn!

Lynn working away.
Bully being controlled for a moment.
Lynn trying to control the position but Bully is working away.
Bully is looking to regain half guard here but Lynn keeps moving and retains side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Bully is trying to work for a sweep but Lynn has mounted him!
Lynn looking to control but Bully is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Lynn takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Bully keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Bully tries to hold on but Lynn postures up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lynn takes Bully's back.

Bully is in a bad position with Lynn working for a choke. Bully manages to spin nicely into guard and the danger is over for the moment.
Bully loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bully sitting in guard, not really doing much.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Bully scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Lynn keeping moving, preventing Bully from controlling successfully.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bully slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Lynn looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Bully has picked Lynn up and slammed him! Lynn can't keep hold of the triangle and Bully manages to pass to side control!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lynn is trying to control Bully's posture but Bully avoids it.
Lynn is trying to improve his position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Bully trying to control the position but Lynn is working away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Cyber Bully will probably get the nod.
That's time! Bully's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Lynn closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Bully is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Bully is not content to let Lynn control the position.
Lynn advances to mount.

Lynn wants to control but instead Bully manages to regain half guard.

Bully looking for submissions off his back.

Bully is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Lynn pulls his head out easily.

Bully looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Bully is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Lynn controlling the action here.

Lynn has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Bully defend it? Lynn steps over the head and cranks it - Bully is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Lynn!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jack Lynn!
A relieved looking Jack Lynn thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
