PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jack Moore (ranked 4529 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quantell Walker (ranked 3546 p4p, 0 weight class). Walker is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by 24's. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Moore!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Quantell Walker!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick from Walker lands but Moore takes it in his stride.
Walker throws a head kick but Moore moves out of range.
Walker throws a head kick that half lands.
Walker tries a head kick but it misses.
Walker throws a series of punches but Moore avoids them all with ease.
Walker feints and then cracks Moore's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Moore down.

Moore throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Walker was covering up waiting for the punch and Moore finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Moore stays in close to Walker's body and controls the position.

Moore postures up and lands a big shot to Walker's brow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Walker is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Walker lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Moore circles away quickly and effectively.

Moore closes the distance and pushes Walker back into the cage.
Walker tries for a takedown. No joy.
Moore displaying some good clinch control by pressing Walker up against the cage.

Moore tightens his grip and picks Walker up, before dumping him to the ground. Walker manages to land in guard.

Moore lands a couple of elbows.
Walker has momentary wrist control but Moore slips an elbow through the middle.
Moore is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Moore wants to get up but he can't break Walker's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Moore is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

That was a close round but I would say that Jack Moore will probably get the nod.

Walker shoots for a takedown but Moore saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Walker throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Walker changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Walker throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Moore is looking to counter the offense by Walker and move into the clinch.
Walker takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Walker ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Moore moves away.

Moore drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Moore is staying tight to Walker's torso, preventing him from escaping.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Moore wants to stand but Walker is controlling his arm.
You can see the frustration on Walker's face as Moore controls the position.

Walker is trying to control Moore's posture but Moore avoids it.
Walker is letting Moore control him for a moment.
Moore has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Walker manages to work his way to half guard, despite Moore's best efforts.

Walker is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Moore pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Walker wants to control but Moore is having none of it.

Walker wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Moore slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Walker turns into Moore and is now in his guard.

Moore bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Walker's guard.

Moore is pushing down on Walker's leg trying to pass to half guard. Walker is fighting to maintain full guard but Moore has managed to sneak the leg through.

Walker has hold of Moore's hands but Moore slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
It looks like Moore is going to stand back up.

Moore is nestled in close to Walker, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Walker content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Moore is pulling down on Walker's head. It's preventing any offense from Walker, at least for the moment.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Walker is fighting to break Moore's control of his arms but Moore is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

I would just about give that final round to Quantell Walker.
