The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lauzon shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Handerson is trying to defend but Lauzon finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Lauzon changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Handerson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jonathan Handerson.

Patterson comes to the cage accompanied by Ice Cream Paint Job. Eipper comes into a darkened arena with his song building. I Got A Feeling kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Derek Patterson had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 146.1lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.
