Le Boulder drives through with a takedown into guard.

Let's hope that Le Boulder has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Le Boulder postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Brown will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Le Boulder seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

It looks like Le Boulder might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vydaniya throws a sloppy head kick and Nochi moves out of range easily.

Vydaniya closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Nochi is looking for a sweep. Vydaniya is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Vydaniya decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Vydaniya fails with a takedown attempt.
Nochi scores with a nice head shot.
It looks like Dos Vydaniya has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vydaniya misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Nochi.
Vydaniya shoots for a takedown but Nochi saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Nochi fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Vydaniya avoids it really well and circles away.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Vydaniya, as that shot connected.

Nochi drops Vydaniya with a beautiful combination! Vydaniya stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Nochi is looking for the KO!
Nochi tries to clinch but Vydaniya is having none of it.
Nochi closes this distance looking for a takedown but Vydaniya circles away.
Vydaniya fails with a takedown attempt.
Spokoynoy Nochi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dos Vydaniya.
Vydaniya shoots for a takedown but Nochi saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Vydaniya tries to land a front kick but Nochi steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Vydaniya follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.

Vydaniya unleashes a big counter combination but Nochi bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Vydaniya takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
No luck for Nochi with that takedown attempt.

Vydaniya shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Nochi napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Vydaniya content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Nochi regains half guard there - taking advantage of Vydaniya's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Nochi tries to roll over but Vydaniya keeps him under control.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Vydaniya content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Vydaniya is keen to just control but Nochi is a slippery customer.

Vydaniya tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Nochi swivels and escapes.
Nochi misses with a two punch combination.
Vydaniya misses with a body kick.

Vydaniya throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Vydaniya lands with a nice body punch.

Nochi scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Vydaniya tries to kick Nochi off in order to stand up. Nochi Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Vydaniya gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Nochi seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Vydaniya does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Nochi decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Nochi looks for a takedown but Vydaniya sprawls well.

Nochi closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Nochi lands in his opponent's guard.

Vydaniya pushes Nochi off and scrambles back to his feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Vydaniya defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Nochi.
Nochi throws a hook but Vydaniya avoids it easily.
Despite the aggression on Vydaniya's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Nochi throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

Vydaniya fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Nochi, pushing him back against the cage.
Nochi misses with a hook to the ribs.
Nochi is trying to break the clinch but Vydaniya has him pressed against the cage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Vydaniya working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Nochi doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Nochi manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Vydaniya not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Nochi got a little sloppy there for a moment and Vydaniya has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Nochi has managed to get both his arms back between Vydaniya's legs - danger averted.

Vydaniya escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nochi gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Nochi passes into half guard.
Vydaniya is trying to control but can't.
Vydaniya is looking for a sweep. Nochi is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Nochi is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Vydaniya is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Vydaniya gets caught napping as Nochi dives in and scores a takedown. Vydaniya manages to retain guard.

Vydaniya kicks Nochi off and gets to his feet.

Nochi gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Nochi throws a right hand that Vydaniya ducks under and follows up with a left that Vydaniya also avoids with ease.

Nochi dives in and grabs Vydaniya's left leg, looking for a takedown. Vydaniya pushes down on Nochi's head and hops out.

I would just about give that final round to Dos Vydaniya.

Totemo gets to mount! Quantou was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Balgav can do anything to dispel that myth.
